Day 01 - AIRPORT - HOTEL

At arrival in Sri Lanka, our Gogo Lanka representative will be at the airport to greet you. From the Air Port we head to the hotel where you will be staying overnight preparing for the exiting journey.

 
         
         
 
     
 
 

Day 02 - HOTEL - DAMBULLA - ANURADHAPURA

Early morning breakfast.

Travel Time – Approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to Dambulla

Dambulla

Dambulla is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dambulla Rock temple is the main attraction of Dambulla. That is the first place that we are going to see. Dambulla Rock Temple was built by King Valagamba in 1st Century BC, as a gratitude to the Monks in Dambulla for providing refuge to his 14 years exile from Anuradhapura. This magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple has 48 Buddha Statues.
From there we head towards Anuradhapura.

Travel Time to Anuradhapura – 1 hour and 15 minutes

Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura is the first capital of Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura has been the capital of Sri Lanka from the 4th century BC, until the beginning of the 11th century AD. It was the Royal Kingdom for 119 kings before it was abandoned and the capital moved to Polonnaruwa.

After some sightseeing in Anuradhapura, we will check into the hotel.

 
         
         
 
     
 
 

DAY 3 - ANURADHAPURA - POLONNARUWA

Breakfast at the Hotel and visit to Polonarruwa.

Travel Time – 2 Hours

Polonnaruwa

Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka. Polonnaruwa was selected as the capital because it gave time to organize defenses in times of foreign invasion. The Hero of the Polonnaruwa era was King Parakramabahu the 1st. Polonnaruwa was abandoned in 14th Century and moved to Dambadeniya. Polonnaruwa will be the stop over for the day.

 
         
         
 
     
 
 

DAY 4 - POLONNARUWA - SIGIRIYA

Breakfast at the hotel and visit to Sigiriya

Travel Time – 45 minutes

Sigiriya

Sigiriya was built in to a fortress by King Kashyapa in 477-495 AD. A Palace built on a Rock. The summit of the Sigiriya rock is almost 200m and it is surrounded by jungle. The entrance of the rock was transformed to resemble a lion by the addition of bricks. Its arts and mirror wall, engineering of the water gardens will amaze you.

Sigiriya is also the stop over for the day.

DAY 5 - SIGIRIYA - KANDY

Breakfast at the Hotel and Visit to Kandy

Travel Time – 1 hour and 30 minutes

Kandy

Kandy is the last Capital of ancient Sri Lanka’s Kingdom era. Dalada Maligawa Temple in Kandy, houses the most sacred Buddhist relic, the Tooth of Lord Buddha. It is the most prominent city outside of Colombo and also known as the Hill Capital of Sri Lanka and is the center for Buddhism and Culture.

After the visit to the Dalada Maligawa, you have the day for yourselves to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening we will check in at our hotel.

DAY 6 - KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

After Breakfast you proceed to Nuwaraeliya.

Travel Time – Approximately 1hour and 30 minutes

Road to Nuwara Eliya

While you are travelling to Nuwara Eliya you could see the lush tea fields, picturesque mountains and waterfalls. During the drive you could visit a tea factory and taste a cup of pure ‘Ceylon Tea’

Nuwara Eliya

It is known as “Little England” , for its cool climes and the similarity with the English weather and the colonial architecture. It is beautifully situated in the hill country surrounded by acres and acres of Tea Plantations .

 
         
         
 
 
 

DAY 7 - NUWARA ELIYA

Travel Time – Approximately 1 hour

Horton Plains National Park

Horton Plains is the highest plateau in Sri Lanka. Major attraction of the park is ‘Worlds end’ where south part of the plains comes to a sudden end and drops straight down for 840m (2854ft). It is also famous for a variety of birds and animals.

 

 

 
         
         
 
 
 

DAY 8 - NUWARA ELIYA TO BANDARAWELA - ELLA

Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawela/Ella

Travel Time – Approximately 1 hour

Bandarawela

Bandarawela is scenic hill country city rich with lush tea gardens. Most of the buildings in the city are still preserved to give the colonial atmosphere.

Ella

Ella is a small town in hill country of Sri Lanka. Ella is famous for breathtaking scenic views. It is famous for trekking and nature walks. The train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella is popular among the tourist due to beautiful landscaping.

Visit to Adisham Bungalow

Adhisham Bungalow is a monestry as at now. It was built by Sir Thomas Villiers. It is built as a small castle and its furniture and fittings are still preserved and it is open for public. You could enjoy fresh fruit jams/preserves and juices prepared by the monks from fruits which are grown in their garden.

 
         
         
 
 
 

DAY 9 - ELLA - YALA

Two days at Yala National Park starts today. From the cold mountains now we will go and see wildlife. After Breakfast you will be proceed towards the Park.

Travel Time – 2 hours

Today you will be relaxing at the hotel to get prepared for tomorrow’s safari tour

 

 
         
         
 
 
 

DAY 10 - YALA

After Breakfast the safari tour starts.

Yala National Park

Yala is the most visited wild life park in Sri Lanka. It is situated in the south east part of the Island and has a semi-dry climate. Yala has variety of animals. It gives shelter to 215 bird varieties, elephants, leopards etc…Yala has one of the highest leopard densities in the world.

 

 
         
         
 
 
 

DAY 11 - YALA - GALLE

After a perfect wild life adventure we head towards the southern beach city of Galle. During the drive, you will be able to see some of the wonderful beaches in the southern part of Sri Lanka.

Travel Time – 4 hours

Galle

Galle is the capital of southern Sri Lanka. Galle is famous for the Dutch fort. It is a UNESCO Heritage site. This was built by the Dutch in the 18th Century. All the buildings in the Fort are still preserved.

 

 
         
         
 
 
 

DAY 12 - GALLE

DAY 13 - GALLE - COLOMBO

After early breakfast you will comeback to Colombo.

Travel Time – 2hours and 30 minitutes

Colombo

Colombo is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. City’s building architecture is a blend of modern and colonial. Parliamentary complex is uniquely located in a lake. There are many shopping malls in Sri Lanka which will cater to your fashion needs.

DAY 14 - DEPARTURE
